My Life is a Mist.

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? 

For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 

(James 4:14 ESV)

              Lord there is so much uncertainty in this life.

Questions, changes, fears, doubts, worries, lies,

answers, paths, directions, passions, dreams, ideas...

But YOU Lord remain steadfast. You never change.

You are the only thing, the only one in this life I can fully rely.

And when I realize this, I realize how fleeting this life is.

This life I worry and fear and doubt about so much...

it is a vapor.

A vanishing mist.

You are God. The rocks cry out your name!

The birds sing praises aloud all the daylong.

Creation screams of your divinity.

Rainbows release echoes of your faithfulness.

Who am I if I am not praising you?

What do I have if I don’t have you?

I am a vapor.

A vanishing mist.

Your voice it thunders
The ground is shaking
The mighty mountains now are trembling
Creation sees You

I hope this life only lasts long enough

for you to hear me crying out

God that my life would pass by quickly

and send shivers as it goes.

Because this life is a vapor.

A vanishing mist.

Help me remember

these words, these thoughts, these prayers

Help my heart be steadfast

After your heart

That this life would make a mark

That this life would draw people to you

Because that is the only point.

I am nothing if I don’t worship.

I am nothing if my life doesn’t push others to worship.

It is a vapor.

A vanishing mist.
